About the Role

AESC is seeking a highly talented Program Manager to take the lead on large-scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) projects, contributing to our mission of advancing energy sustainability. This role presents the opportunity to work on never-before-built production lines, pushing the boundaries of cell production volume at an unprecedented scale. What You Will Do 

  • Validate and review project schedules throughout construction and SOP phases.
  • Manage and challenge budget requirements from construction to equipment manufacturing.
  • Communicate with operations throughout system design, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Track and present project funding requirements to the executive committee.
  • Foster innovation within the team and EPC contractor for AESC's success.
  • Coordinate critical path activities and lead resolution of project challenges.
  • Assess project risks and implement mitigation plans, providing weekly updates to senior leadership.
  • Provide strategic input for organization and construction requirements.
  • Report construction progress and risks to Project Director, addressing potential claims or disputes.
  • Secure necessary resources for construction supervision and safety plans.
  • Lead weekly customer reviews and ensure information flow across functions.
  • Develop milestone plans and executive overviews of project scopes.
  • Serve as the main point of contact with stakeholders and executive leaders when Project Director is off-site.

Travel

Domestic and international travel required.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related Engineering field.
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience working for leading global companies in supervising and managing large industrial projects with a capital expenditure exceeding $100 million.
  • Advanced knowledge and a proven track record of successful delivery in CSA/MEP, Project Management, and Program Leadership.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines and goals.
  • An inquisitive and open attitude towards exploring new ideas and a willingness to continuously learn.
  • Capability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution.

What is “Nice to Have”?

  • Graduate studies in project management or business are highly valued.
  • Proficiency in additional languages beyond English is advantageous, as it aligns with our global operations and enhances communication with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience or familiarity with the dynamics of start-up environments, showcasing an ability to thrive in agile and fast-paced settings.
