About the Role

AESC is looking for a Manager, Construction Projects, to work on large scale ground-up Engineering-Procurement-Construction project that requires exceptional talent. The product portfolio is expanding with never-built-before production lines, and requirements demand cell production volume at a scale which was once thought to be impossible to reach. What You Will Do 

  • Lead day-to-day activities of construction phase.
  • Develop and manage a team to execute project scope including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Process
  • Coordinate all contractors’ activities and lead resolution of field construction problems. 
  • Communicates/liaise with operations during system installation and commissioning.
  • Coach and mentor counterparts and subordinates on excellence in the construction industry
  • Foster an innovative environment amongst your team's and those within the EPC contractor to help AESC succeed.
  • Provide strategic input into the construction organization, setting your team’s future up for growth and success.
  • Report construction progress/risks to the Project Director
    • Identify construction-related risks and develop mitigation plans. 
    • Identify and track potential field change orders. 
    • Identify potential claims or disputes.
    • Document all field activities.
  • Develop construction quality plans and safety plans in conjunction with QA/QC and safety managers.
  • Secure resources to support construction supervision and implementation of safety plan.
  • Participate in contracting strategy development and contractor selection. 
  • Review contractors’ deliverables and compliance with plans and specifications
  • When the Lead Construction Manager is not onsite, be the single point of contact with contractors and local stakeholders.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience 
  • Graduate studies in project management or business will be valued.
  • Have at least 5 years of experience working for global leading companies in supervising and managing the construction of large industrial projects ($100m+ capex)
  • Advanced knowledge and proven delivery on Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Process scopes.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills are a must. 
  • Ability to work within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with challenging timelines and goals.
  • Have an inquisitive and open attitude to exploring new ideas and willingness to continuously learn.
  • Ability to train and mentor colleagues on best practices for project management and execution.
  • Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (Training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
  • Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards. (Training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
