The Kentucky gigafactory in Bowling Green will supply Mercedes-Benz with high-performance battery cell modules. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply technology-leading battery cells for new electric models produced in BMW Group's Spartanburg plant. About the Role
The PMO Senior Manager oversees the program management office, ensuring the successful planning, execution, and governance of multiple projects within the organization. This role focuses on developing and implementing structured project management frameworks, fostering innovation, and driving continuous improvement across production workflows. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in methodological project management and leadership, ensuring alignment with strategic goals while fostering a culture of accountability and inclusivity.
What You Will Do
- Lead the PMO function to support the CVP Project Management US/Europe in program leadership and management.
- Establish and manage comprehensive project management frameworks, prioritizing structured, methodological approaches.
- Monitor project performance through a defined Quality Gate Review process to ensure alignment with timing, quality, and cost goals.
- Facilitate seamless collaboration across functional areas, emphasizing a strong process orientation and production workflow setup.
- Act as a liaison between executives and project teams, providing transparent updates on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Manage the project portfolio, ensuring initiatives align with strategic goals and available resources.
- Optimize resource allocation and resolve risks or issues proactively to ensure seamless execution.
- Utilize advanced digital tools, including Power BI and cloud-based platforms, to enhance transparency and real-time project tracking.
- Present comprehensive reports to stakeholders, ensuring expectations are managed and outcomes are clearly aligned with deliverables.
- Develop and implement process frameworks utilizing Agile, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies to streamline workflows.
- Drive continuous improvement through innovation and the integration of AI tools for forecasting, resource allocation, and project visibility.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks with a strong focus on contingency planning.
- Foster a transparent and collaborative culture to resolve issues and drive operational excellence.

Work Environment
The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.

What You Need
- Extensive experience in production-focused project management within automotive or manufacturing environments.
- Expertise in defining, managing, and optimizing production workflows.
- Proficiency in AI, data visualization, and digital tools to enhance project insights.
- Skilled in Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, or other project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in program/project management, preferably within automotive, battery, or manufacturing industries.
- Proficient in project management tools (MS Project, Jira, Trello, Power BI) and digital visualization platforms.
- Strong ability to establish clear processes and milestones for successful outcomes.
- Fosters innovation-drive, inclusive leadership, empowering teams to succeed.
- Ensures a culture of accountability and transparency, using data-driven mechanisms.
- Committed to excellence in process setup and execution, ensuring alignment with production goals and KPIs.
- Expertise in setting up and optimizing structured frameworks for production workflows.
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949 and VDA 6.3 quality standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
- Understands and follows all standards of ISO14001 environmental standards. (training and awareness will be provided for those who are not familiar with these standards)
What is “Nice to Have”?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
