H&S Manager/Process and Safety Expert - AESC Spain

Location: Navalmoral de la Mata, Cáceres (Extremadura), Spain

Company Overview
AESC is a global leader in lithium‑ion and LFP battery technology, with a fast-growing footprint across Japan, the UK, France, China, and the USA—soon expanding in Spain with a €1‑billion gigafactory in Extremadura to open by 2026 and create up to 900 direct jobs in phase one. The Spanish facility is designed as the first net‑zero industrial park gigafactory in the country, aligning with AESC’s mission to pioneer sustainable battery manufacturing.

Role Purpose
The HS Manager, or Process and Safety Expert, will support the establishment of a world-class Health and Safety program for the new battery gigafactory in Navalmoral de la Mata. Reporting to the HSE Head of Spain, you will implement HS standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive a proactive safety culture across construction and future operations. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, risk awareness, and collaboration with contractors and project teams to achieve zero-incident performance and environmental excellence.

This person will be fully responsible for the overall process equipment safety management of the project, specifically covering: reviewing the design drawings of process equipment, collecting design-related materials, conducting design reviews, evaluating supplier qualifications, and implementing comprehensive control over the process safety, fire protection, and explosion-proof design concepts of facilities and equipment; meanwhile, taking charge of on-site safety supervision during the equipment installation and commissioning period (especially in the production launch phase).

Additionally, the HS Manager will support other safety, environmental, and occupational health management activities during the project construction process, specifically covering: assisting in handling and supporting EHS compliance procedures at various stages of the project, assisting in EHS management activities during plant construction, and various safety, health, and environmental management activities during the operation process, etc.
