About the Role:
As a QA Lab Technologist, you will perform daily testing and inspections on batteries and components to ensure the highest standards of safety and product quality. Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will partner with Quality Engineering to investigate manufacturing and warranty concerns, using your technical expertise to evaluate quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
What You Will Do
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate advanced laboratory equipment, including HPLC, GC-MS, ICP-OES, SEM, CT scanners, cycle testing equipment, and optical/digital microscopes.
- Prepare and analyze samples utilizing wet chemistry methods and perform routine quality checks on various battery components.
- Analyze materials and finished products to confirm strict conformance to technical specifications.
- Conduct rigorous failure analysis on manufacturing defects and warranty parts to identify root causes.
- Resolve complex technical issues, develop alternative solutions, and provide actionable recommendations for current operations and future development.
- Present findings and influence leadership on specific strategic recommendations regarding operations and product development.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Your performance will be measured against several critical indicators. Your ability to successfully complete quality testing with a variety of instrumentation will be a key performance indicator. Additionally, your contribution to the Quality Engineering Team’s judgment of quality defects will be closely monitored. We will gauge your success in fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment through team performance and the successful implementation of creative solutions. Your Team
You will be reporting directly to the QA Supervisor, who brings years of experience is battery manufacturing quality. You will collaborate closely with a group of dedicated professionals, each contributing their unique skills and expertise to our collective success. Currently, the team consists of talented individuals in roles such as Quality Engineer, QA Lab Technologist and QA Technologist, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment. Physical Demands
- Work within a climate-controlled, highly automated facility with established safety protocols, moderate noise levels, and a concrete floor layout.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb frequently throughout the shift to support floor operations for extended periods; ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to read, write, speak, hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach and lift with hands and arms frequently throughout the day.
Work Environment

What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (Chemistry, Biology, Physics, etc.)
- Two or more years of manufacturing or other laboratory experience
- Experience with lab equipment such as GCMS, HPLC, ICP-OES, and microscopes
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of software
- Understands and follows all standards of IATF16949, VDA 6.3 quality standards, and ISO14001 environmental standards.
What is “Nice to Have”?
- Experience reporting and presenting on technical laboratory results
- Experience maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment
- Experience with CT or X-ray operation and analysis is a plus
