Role Purpose

As a Fire Protection Engineer, you will lead and oversee all fire safety engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from design review and construction supervision to commissioning, regulatory approvals, and operational readiness. You will ensure full compliance with Spanish and European fire safety regulations while supporting the delivery of a safe, efficient, and world-class manufacturing facility.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead fire protection engineering activities for the project from design through construction and handover.

• Review and optimize fire protection systems, including fire water networks, automatic suppression systems, smoke extraction, explosion protection, and evacuation systems.

• Ensure compliance with Spanish fire regulations, European standards, and internal company requirements.

• Supervise on-site fire protection installations and verify construction quality.

• Coordinate with designers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and local authorities to resolve technical and regulatory issues.

• Manage fire safety approvals, inspections, testing, and acceptance processes.

• Identify and mitigate fire safety risks throughout the design and construction phases.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal fire protection standards and engineering procedures.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field. 

• Mandatory to possess a Master's Degree in Health and Safety. Máster Oficial de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales, todas las especialidades.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fire protection engineering within industrial projects. Minimum 1 industrial project experience.

• Strong knowledge of Spanish fire protection regulations and industrial fire safety standards.

• Ideally, experience supervising contractors and managing interfaces in complex construction environments. Including the experience in designs.

• Experience on the client/owner side or overseeing EPC/PMC contractors is highly valued.

• Experience in battery manufacturing facilities, energy storage projects, clean production workshops, or other high-tech industrial environments is a strong advantage.

• International project experience within Europe is a plus.

Languages

• Fluent Spanish (mandatory)

• Professional English (mandatory)

• Chinese is a plus
