Description & Requirements
Responsible for developing Battery Material commodity strategies that strives for supplier introductions through new technology, and competitive costing meeting governmental regulations; develop key raw material suppliers for battery cell/electrode, specialized chemicals, and materials for local production; develop battery cell raw materials expertise in Lithium Ion, NCM, LFP and other chemicals; work with the global procurement team to analyze value chain partnership structures and investment opportunities for specific raw materials; lead the development and execution of business cases for cathode and anode, focusing on cost, project feasibility, timing, localization and risk mitigation; execute LOIs/MOUs/Off Takes/sourcing agreements with battery cell/electrode suppliers to support corporate business plans; lead battery recycling sourcing initiatives to improve operations efficiency; establish baseline measurement for ESG performance of suppliers; drive participation in audits/assessments that evaluate whether sustainability and ESG standards are met, and to ensure implementation of corrective actions to the findings; lead and support fact based negotiation by providing data transparency from the supply base to achieve desired cost targets; institute in-depth understanding of battery value chain cost drivers, historical prices, and future cost projections through trends and market research; monitor team progress towards procurement strategy implementation; design analytical tools to quantify progress of sourced/secured supply to quantify annual output capabilities versus capacities needed; analyze AESC’s cycle plans and translate changes to address potential capacity issues that could constrain corporate raw material supply chains in the future; contribute to risk mitigation plans cross-functionally with raw material suppliers, engineering teams and other battery cell stakeholders; analyze market trends, industry dynamics, technology announcements and translate findings into data collection and actionable insights; utilize and apply knowledge of Partnership structures evaluations, Raw materials value-chain analysis of polarizer electronic materials and battery metals, Lithium-ion/NCM/LFP, Cathode/anode materials commodity strategy development, battery raw material cost modeling, supply-capacity quantification analytical tool design, ESG performance measurements, recycling/closed-loop material recovery programs, battery materials market trend analysis, battery materials technology landscape analysis, raw material/battery supply chain risk mitigation planning, and battery commodities investment opportunities to perform assigned duties; and lead cross-functional project implementation to enhance AESC’s competitiveness in the Energy Storage/EV market with an agile, solutions-based mentality.
Location: Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and multiple undetermined worksites throughout the US;
Salary: $175,000 per year
Education: Bachelors – Supply Chain, Operations, Business Administration, Economics, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);
Training: None;
Experience: Four (4) years in the position above, as a Sr. Procurement Manager, as a Procurement Manager, as a Category Manager, as a Global Supply Manager, or in a related occupations.
Other Requirements: Experience must include four (4) years use of all the following: Partnership structures evaluations; Lithium-ion/NCM/LFP; Cathode/anode materials commodity strategy development; battery raw material cost modeling; ESG performance measurements; recycling/closed-loop material recovery programs; battery materials market trend analysis; battery materials technology landscape analysis; raw material/battery supply chain risk mitigation planning; and battery commodities investment opportunities.
Will also accept any suitable combination of education, training and/or experience.
